Tuneful youngsters are celebrating the song in their hearts after taking part in a school’s choir competition.
Pupils at Hanslope Primary School were in fine voice when they harmonised at the Wolverton Inner Wheel’s latest non-profit-making, community event.
The voracious vocalists performed a wide range of choral medleys, along with pupils from Slated Row School, St Mary & St Giles, Russell Street, Queen Eleanor, Wyvern and Greenleys Primary Schools.
Compere for the afternoon was Milton Keynes Poet Laureate Mark Niel, who provided entertaining anecdotes between the melodious compositions by the 200 participating pupils.
Mayor of Milton Keynes Brian White presented Hanslope Primary School pupils with their own individual ‘first place’ certificates, while the school received a framed certificate to acknowledge its success in the competition.
The ladies of Wolverton Inner Wheel hope to repeat the competition in the future.
They thanked Radcliffe School for hosting the competition, Tesco Wolverton for providing refreshments, Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council for meeting the printing costs and Ruth’s Flowers in Wolverton for some artful arrangements.
