Singing together in perfect harmony...

WHAT’S the secret of a long-lasting relationship?

Living in harmony, surely.

You’ll not find a member of the Junction 14 Ladies Barbershop Club who disagrees either – the 30 strong troupe is celebrating it’s quarter century in 2012.

They formed in 1987 as Keyne Harmony, adopting their current moniker a decade later.

Ages and backgrounds vary, but the ladies share a love of singing in close part harmony, and they will display those traits at a special anniversary concert on Saturday night.

‘Melodies & Memories celebrating 25 years of harmony’ is being hosted at the Chrysalis Theatre in Willen Park South.

Akeley Wood Junior Choir, Woburn Sands C Band and MK Acapella will add to the festivities.

Tickets are on sale at £10, with concessions at £8.

Happy birthday ladies!

ONLY one show on the agenda for the Music at the City Church brigade this week – but it’s a big production, putting it mildly.

On Tuesday evening, the Brigham University Singers will be in concert at the Church of Christ the Cornerstone.

The 40-strong American collective will dazzle with a set of material comprising Spanish Renaissance music, great American choral composers of the 18th and 19th centuries, African-American Spirituals, folk song arrangements and Gospel favourites.

That is one heck of a lot of style for a not so big ticket price – of just £10.

The Brigham University Singers are regulars on national television stateside, and Tuesday’s show is the first date of a UK tour.

The date is a special fund-raising concert for Willen Hospice.

The curtain will rise at 7.30pm. Call MK 246486 and purchase tickets.
