Ten people, currently taking part in an English for Speakers of Other Languages course, have been awarded certificates for completing the Six Book Challenge.

The group are part of the Adult Continuing Education Course and due to their achievements they have been entered into a national prize to win a trip to London or the latest e-reader.

The challenge saw people picking six books to read before completing a personal reading diary of their experience. It was supported by former SAS soldier Andy McNab who is the 2013 Challenge Ambassador.

Helen Martin, course tutor for ACE, said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone who doesn’t normally read or needs an excuse to get back into reading to take up an exciting and rewarding challenge.”

The Milton Keynes Library Service has already seen 154 participants sign up to the Six Book Challenge this year and there is still time to take part if you haven’t already. Challengers have until the end of June to select their six books and take part. Visit your local library or go to www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/sixbookchallenge for more information.
