Frosts Garden Centre’s Sunflower Challenge is back due to popular demand, following an unprecedented response from schools across the county in 2010’s competition.

If you think that your school can grow the tallest sunflower, all you have to do is visit your local centre and leave your schools name and email dress, your free seeds will be sent to you in the post-then the race begins!

82 schools in and around Milton Keynes opted in to the Sunflower Challenge 2010, which entailed Frosts and partner Suttons and Thompson and Morgan donating free sunflower seeds, soil, digging tools and a grower’s guide.

The Grow Your Own Schools campaign was launched by the Frosts Group across all four centres. In total, 322 schools took part in the Sunflower Challenge 2010, which equals nearly 50,000 pupils.

James Frost, Managing Director at Frosts Garden Centres said, “We are pleased to be bringing back this competition for the schools. When we first developed the concept of Grow Your Own with Schools we never expected such a wonderfully positive response, it is a fun way to get an important message out there. We hope each school enjoys the challenge and we look forward to seeing some wonderful sunflowers to come.”
