Runners and would-be runners still have chance to don their trainers for the Milton Keynes Half Marathon this Sunday, July 17.
The MK marathon, sponsored this year by Dawsongroup plc, with the team challenge sponsored by Woodfines Solicitors and Baker Tilly, is entirely organised by volunteers and is now in its 13th year. Last year the event raised £50,000 from 1,700 registered runners, taking the total raised since the half marathon started to a staggering £360,000!
The hard work of the volunteers was recognised when they were awarded a Pride in MK award as best volunteers, while the race itself has been rated the most improved half marathon in the UK by Runner’s World readers.
NSPCC fundraising manager Sally Phipps said, “We hope that people are encouraged to take part in this years’ race and do their bit to help. If you’re unable to run, then why not come down and support those taking part, or if you live on the route look out for runners to cheer.”
Individual and team entries are welcomed from all over the UK and everyone that crosses the finish line receives a unique NSPCC Half Milton Keynes Half Marathon medal.
