Staff at Kids Play have got the energy after milestone

Staff and children at Kids Play Childcare’s Long Meadow site are celebrating becoming the 900th site in the UK to be become an “Energy Club”.

This means they are an extra-curricular, fun, physical activity movement for children aged between four and 11 which is funded by the Cabinet Office via the Social Action Fund.

Launched in October 2012 with the aim of having 900 venues signed up to the Scheme by the end of 2013, Kids Play Childcare at Long Meadow are honoured to be the ones to reach the prestigious milestone of 900th venue in the UK.

Charlotte Thompson, Manager at Kids Play Childcare Activity Day Camps and After School Clubs at Long Meadow School. She said: “To be part of this fantastic scheme is exciting enough, but to actually be the ones to reach the milestone of the 900th Club is the icing on the cake.

“We are always looking for different ways to get children more active and knowledgeable about healthy living and this is a great opportunity to enhance what we already do at Kids Play Childcare. We can’t wait to get going and more than anyone, I know the children are going to absolutely love it.”
