A POLISH-BORN student who studied photography at Milton Keynes College is shortlisted for one of the world’s most prestigious prizes at the National Portrait Gallery.
Kamil Szkopik is among the finalists for the Taylor Wessing prize and his work will be on display in the gallery for three months beginning on November 8.
Kamil, whose images have already appeared in the Professional Photographer Magazine and Italian Vogue, moved from Poland to the UK at the age of 21.
He became hooked on photography as soon as he got his first digital camera and knew immediately he wanted to concentrate on fashion.
After a course at Milton Keynes College he studied for his BA at the University of Bedfordshire.
Finally he won a place at the London College of Fashion, from where he is about to graduate with an MA.
Kamil, who refuses to use Photoshop because his work is “organic”, has already had exhibitions at MK Gallery and also at Central Milton Keynes Library.
