BROADBAND users will get the chance to influence which area of the city is next in line for a faster service.
Milton Keynes Council, in partnership with BizTech Technology Forum, launch a survey today which invites people to log on and argue why their area deserves the better broadband.
The city is one of the first across the UK to be selected to host the next generation roll-out of super fast broadband which will allow people to send movies quicker, enjoy better entertainment and gaming and lower their energy bills.
Cabinet member for IT services, councillor David Hopkins, said: “We want to hear from as many people as possible and their responses are important in demonstrating where we are and where we want to go with next generation broadband.”
The officer leading the council’s broadband delivery, Navin Sankersingh, said: “Broadband providers respond to demand and would invest their infrastructure in areas that show a real demand for service.
“That is why it is important for as many people as possible to take part in the survey.”
And spokesman for Biztech, Nimish Sawjani, said: “The world is a more connected place and broadband allows people to work in ways that were not possible just a few years ago.”
