Three suspected asylum seekers were arrested in a churchyard this morning.

Officers found the men in the grounds of St Peter and St Paul Church in Newport Pagnell at 9.20am, after being tipped off by a member of the public.

They were arrested under the immigration act and taken to Milton Keynes Police Station where they remain.

Thames Valley Police say they have contacted The UK Boarder Agency.

Today’s incident comes just ten days after 17 people were arrested on suspicion of immigration offences when they were seen running in fields in Toddington close to the M1.
