Every year the Rotary Club of Milton Keynes’ Swimathon makes a big splash but this year it is going for a dive bomb...

In 2010 the event raised over £30,000 in one day and the organisers want to beat this record.

They are looking for help to raise money for needy charities from anyone able to putting in a team of up to six swimmers for the event on March 12 at Stantonbury Pool.

The Swimathon will see swimmers take it in turn to swim a length and after 55 minutes the average team clocks up about 100 lengths.

Full details can be found at the Rotary of Milton Keynes website on www.rotary-milton-keynes.org – simply follow the Swimathon link.

The charities involved are Willen Hospice, Bletchley Park Trust, MK Bereavement Service, MK Bowel Cancer Trust, MK Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Group, Open Door Hostel Project, Ride High and Artworks MK.
