The Good Food Guide has recently contacted local Chinese restaurant ‘Taipan’ to inform them they have been included in their prestigious 2012 book
And apparently they are the only restaurant in Milton Keynes to be in the Guide this year.
The Good Food Guide has been written by restaurant and food critics since 1951 and is started from scratch each year. The only way to be included is initially to be nominated and then one of the critics will visit the restaurant as a normal paying customer so they don’t receive any special attention and can review the venue undercover.
If a restaurant is deemed worthy to be included in the Guide they will receive notification in August. You cannot elect to be in the guide or pay for inclusion, your food, service and overall experience have to be outstanding. This is the first time Taipan has been included and they are keeping company with the likes of Heston Blumenthal, Claude Bosi, Raymond Blanc, Marcus Wareing and Gordon Ramsay.
For more information on Taipan’s inclusion in the Guide or to find out about the restaurant visit the Theatre District website www.theatre-district.co.uk.
