Little Lyla Cheetham has won a town-wide art competition aimed at raising awareness of eye health thanks to her vivid interpretations of stingrays and seahorses.

The talented five-year-old impressed the judges with her picture of an aquarium in a competition organised by Davis Optometrists, based in Olney High Street.

The Olney Infant Academy pupil was recapturing a visit to the south coast for the Schools Colouring Competition which was staged to raise awareness of eye health.

Lyla received a £15 book voucher and a colouring pack as well as £100 worth of book vouchers for her school. She said: “I was over the moon and proud when they told me.”
