Milton Keynes Theatre welcomed talented students from eight schools to compete in the 2015 UK Rock Challenge.

Eight hundred young people performed on stage in front of a large audience in a bid to be crowned the winners.

The schools which took part came from Aberdeenshire, Angus, Cumbria, Dorset, the Isle of Wight, Nottinghamshire, West Sussex and West Yorkshire.

Yateley School, in Hampshire, were crowned champions with Ryde Academy, on the Isle of Wight, coming second. Third place was taken by Peterhead Academy in Aberdeenshire while fourth place went to Durrington High School, in West Sussex.

Be Your Best Foundation patron, Baroness Ruth Henig presented the award for first place. She said: “This is the third national final that we have had in the UK and the standard tonight is the highest that I can ever remember, it was absolutely unbelievable.”
