Guests enjoyed an authentic Nepalese three course meal in Olney while helping to raise money for a charity helping locals on the ground.
A group of friends set themselves a hosting challenge and invited locals to buy tickets for a Nepalese supper evening with proceeds going to the Annapurna Foundation, a charity helping to rebuild the village of Ningale in Nepal following the earthquake.
The event was a sell-out with 75 guests enjoying welcome drinks in the Rose Court gardens followed by a meal in the brasserie. Food was provided by Rajiv, from Rajiv’s Kitchen, and there was entertainment from traditional Senagalese drummers and Americana/country soul singer Danni Nicholls.
Volunteers helped prepare the food and wait on tables while local businesses donated raffle and auction prizes. The event raised £2,300.
The organisers said they wanted to thank everyone who had helped make the event a success.
