A taxi driver was robbed in Stony Stratford on Thursday night by a group of people with a baseball bat.

The driver was dropping off two women in Bunsty Court, Galley Hill at about 11.45pm when he was set upon by a group of people who were stood around the entrance.

He was hit with a baseball bat and knocked to the floor before his mobile phone and PDA were stolen from inside the taxi.

The main offender is a white man, 6ft tall, slim, in his mid-twenties who was wearing a grey tracksuit.

Det Con Greg Hughes, of Milton Keynes CID, said: “ We are currently in the early stages in the investigation of this offence and I would urge anyone, particularly the two female passengers dropped off at Bunsty Court, to contact me.

“At this time I do not believe this is linked to the ongoing series of robberies on taxi drivers in Milton Keynes however, I am keeping an open mind.”
