I’D like to teach the world to sing.

That will be the message from children at seven city schools next month when they join forces for a world record breaking sing-song.

The pupils from Ashbrook School in Two Mile Ash, Great Linford Primary School in Great Linford, Greenleys First School in Greenleys, Heelands School in Heelands, High Ash Church of England School in Great Brickhill, Langland Community School in Netherfield and Walnuts School in Hazeley will attempt to break the record for the most people singing a song simultaneously.

Pupils will be joining in with the sign2sing event organised by the charity SignHealth at 2.45pm on Wednesday, February 9.

More than 380 schools and 50,000 pupils will be participating nationally, with the children learning to sing The New Seekers 1970s song ‘I’d like to Teach the World to Sing’.

The event will raise money via donations from businesses and a £2 fee from each singer and will go to SignHealth, a healthcare charity for deaf people.
