Staff at a nursery in Fishermead had a helping hand last week from a group of city youngsters as part of their Prince’s Trust team programme.
The nine students, who all attend Milton Keynes College, spent time at the Acorn nursery at the Willows as they put into practice some of the activities they planned in the week prior.
Aged between 17 and 22, the students benefited from the hands-on experience of working in a busy environment, much to the delight of their supervisor, Shaun Hobbs.
He said: “This week has been a good opportunity for the Prince’s Trust team to work with a community that they wouldn’t normally come across.
“The students have planned and run activities for children. The week has been very successful and it has been good to work with Acorn at the Willows.”
The nursery staff were delighted to have been selected by MK College for the programme and manager Elena Martuccio believes it has been a positive experience for all concerned.
She said: “It has been a great week. I’ve observed the students throughout the week, gaining confidence with the children and I’ve really been impressed by their enthusiasm.”
