The untold story of Bletchley Park is the subject of a play which is currently touring the UK.
That Is All You Need To Know tells both the wartime story of Bletchley Park’s Codebreakers – through the eyes of the Head of Hut 6, Gordon Welchman – and the tale of how the wartime Huts and Blocks were saved from demolition in the early 1990s, by a passionate group of enthusiasts and volunteers.
It tells the story of Bletchley Park and the untold secrets of the remarkable men and women who cracked the German Enigma cipher system. Among these pioneers were the visionary Alan Turing, the exceptional Gordon Welchman and the thousands of dynamic women whose work was the hidden heroism of the war.
Joel Greenberg, Bletchley Park Historian and Gordon Welchman’s biographer, said “I am delighted that an independent theatre company has recognised the importance of Gordon Welchman’s contribution to the success of Bletchley Park during World War Two. He is quite rightly, in my opinion, given equal billing to Alan Turing in this fascinating production.”
