Is there room in your home for a four-legged friend this Christmas?
That’s the plea from the city’s RSPCA branch, which is still struggling with record numbers of unwanted cats.
They are hoping their Twelve Strays of Christmas will prompt a seasonal surge of people to call their adoption line on 01908 611179.
The 12 cats (and one little bunny who slipped in) are called Tinsel, Noel, Mittens, Cracker, Jingle, spice, Frosty, Pudding, Balthazar, Nutmeg and Coal. The Quality Street rabbit is called Ivy. An RSPCA spokesman said: These animals will sadly spend Christmas in a shelter.
“Although we spend time with them and give them lots of treats on Christmas Day, nothing can beat being part of a family.”
