The future city debate: growth, change and governance in Milton Keynes

If you’re interested in how we shape Milton Keynes and get the city we want then the free talk at MK Gallery tomorrow evening sounds like it’s for you.

Dr Georgina Blakely, a Senior Lecturer in Politics from the OU’s Faculty of Social Sciences, and Jeff Austin, an independent expert on government policy & strategy, will discuss how we define the governance structures to achieve the city we need, by working together through partnership and strong leadership.

This is the latest in an occasional series of talks presented by the Fred Roche Foundation, an organisation that aims to stimulate creative discussion and debate around subjects that are vital to the growth and vitality of Milton Keynes.

The Foundation was formed by former colleagues of the architect Fred Roche, who as General Manager of the Milton Keynes Development Corporation oversaw Miton Keynes’ major growth and development phase in the 1970s.

Tickets to the event are free, and can be pre-booked via MK Gallery’s website at

Doors open at 6.30pm and it starts at 7pm at MK Gallery, 900 Midsummer Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 3QA.
