Ever fancied tackling Mount Everest - without having to leave Milton Keynes?

Nikki Pike, who works as a climbing instructor at Ellis Brigham Climbing Walls, will be joined by colleagues, family and friends as they collectively climb 29,029 feet - the equivalent of Mount Everest - in aid of Willen Hospice.

And members of the public are invited to join the fun, which takes place at Ellis Brigham in the XScape on June 6.

Nikki said: “Willen Hospice is a great charity. The father of a colleague of mine was looked after by Willen and it really opened my eyes to what they do.

“They look after people of all background and with all different illnesses, and I wanted to take on a challenge, get the whole community involved, and raise money for this great charity too.

“We will open the wall at Ellis Brigham to the public to attempt a climb to the top to add to our bank of collected climbs. Each climber will have five attempts for a minimum donation of £5, and throughout the day we will also have a DJ, food stall and raffle prizes.”
