More than 200 people have been queuing outside The Waterside in Aylesbury this morning (Monday) as the theatre begins selling discount tickets to celebrate its fifth birthday.

For one day only there will be exclusive discounts with £5 tickets available for shows including Thriller Live, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, the Rocky Horror Show and Dick Whittington.

Fans are queuing back to the Waitrose store and have been since before the booking office opened at 9am.

Even Philip Childs, who will be starring in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert when it comes to the theatre later this month was among those waiting to get their hands on discount tickets.

Mr Childs and Waterside pantomime favourite Andy Collins are among those who have tweeted happy birthday messages to the theatre.

The theatre’s cafe is also offering a birthday bundle, where for every slice of birthday cake bought, customers can receive a complimentary cup of tea or filter coffee.
