Communication is receiving top marks at Romans Field School.

To improve relationships between the specialist school – which offers residential placement for 50 pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties – and home, their staff launched the ‘In It Together’ project in January.

Teachers were keen to involve parents in the progress pupils make, so home visits were made in March, before parental training workshops took place throughout the summer term.

Assistant headteacher, Rhona Milan, said: “Parents have said they feel more involved and supported, and are able to have a voice and be listened to without being judged.”
