Five garages along one street in Middleton were broken into over two days – with an estimated £24,000 of items stolen from one property.
All of the thefts happened in Woodall Close, with the first taking place at 3.30am on Tuesday when thieves forced the door open before stealing a number of items.
An unsecured garage was targeted between 11.30pm on Tuesday and 4.15am on Wednesday but nothing was stolen.
Two others were then targeted between 1.45am and 2.20am on Wednesday, with police unsure as to what was stolen.
A toolbox was stolen from a fifth garage between 1.45am and 2.20am, also on Wednesday.
