A 64-year-old woman had three rings stolen in an alley in Coffee Hall on Wednesday night.
At about 9.20pm, the woman was walking along the alley which connects Rochfords to St Dunstans. As she stopped briefly to light a cigarette, she was pushed from behind, causing her to drop her purse, which the offender picked up.
They then ran off in the direction of Rochfords.
The offender is a man, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins, and of a large build.
The purse is black with an Alsatian dog motive. It contained cash and three rings. The first is a yellow gold band with a diamond shaped emerald surrounded by 12 small clear diamonds.
The second is a gold band with a gold bow encrusted with small clear stones, and the third is a gold Claddagh ring, with the two hands holding a green stone with a crown.
The victim, who was not injured in the robbery, remembers seeing two other people in the area just after the incident, and police are appealing for them, and anyone else who saw any suspicious activity or witnessed the incident, to come forward.
Any witnesses can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
