A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy suffered minor head injuries after being hit by a car during the school run.
The boy and his mother were waiting by the roadside on Buckingham Road, Bletchley, on Monday, when they were waved across by the female driver of a blue Mini Cooper.
However, the driver then continued driving and hit the boy knocking him to the ground and causing him minor head injuries.
The driver stopped at first and seemed extremely apologetic and shaken by the incident.
She said to the mother that she was going to park up and get out, but then changed her mind, and failed to stop and drove away, leaving the mother to tend to her injured son.
An ambulance was called and the boy was taken straight to Milton Keynes General Hospital.
Officers would now like to speak to her as well as any other witnesses who have any information about the incident or the driver herself.
Investigating officer, PC Faraz Vakani, said: “The boy was lucky not to have been more seriously hurt.
“I would appeal for the driver to come forward and for anyone with any information about the incident to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone who has any information on the incident itself or the driver of the Mini Cooper should call police on 08458 505505.
