Melton Mowbray pork pie, Pontefract cake, the Bedford Clanger – many towns and cities across Britain have their own special dish.
But not Milton Keynes – until now.
Milton Keynes Food & Leisure Awards has joined forces with city tourist experts, Destination MK, to launch the search for the ‘Official Dish of MK’.
The organisers are asking restaurants, pubs and cafes across the city to come up with their own MK main, whether it be Cow Pie or a roundabout roast.
A shortlist will be featured in the Citizen, with readers invited to vote for their favourite. People can enter by contacting food awards organiser Steven on 07703818276 or via email at email@example.com
The food and leisure awards, backed by this newspaper, aim to honour the best restaurants, pubs, hotels, chefs and gyms in MK.
The 2013 event will be held at Jury’s Inn in CMK on May 12.
Winners of each category will be selected by public online votes, mystery dining and a panel of judges.
