VETS surgery Companion Care in Rooksley have been named ‘Practice of the Year’ in the groups’ national awards.
Companion Care is a group of over 90 veterinary surgeries nationwide, each locally owned and run by their individual veterinary directors, Joint Venture Partners they are linked as a group by their business support company Companion Care (Services) Ltd, who hosted the awards ceremony.
Practice Owner Huw Morgan-Jones said: “Winning the award was a great achievement for us, particularly since there are now 93 Companion Care practices nationwide and the award was judged against some very tough competition.
“We were assessed on our customer service, management efficiency, internal auditing as well as our clinical results.
“The team has really worked hard this year and everyone is over the moon!”
Huw added that one of the surgery’s highlights of the last year was helping Pets at Home run a charity weekend in aid of ‘Dog Watch’ a police neighbourhood watch initiative.
The team had a great time getting involved with the Dog Shows and organising an agility display on the day.
“We have tried very hard to differentiate ourselves in these difficult economic times by running special offers, being open all weekend,” he said. “And by having our ever popular puppy and kitten vaccination packages running throughout the year.
“But to be honest I think the main reason we won though is our team! A business is nothing without a quality team and we have some very experienced and caring people on our team who I’m proud to work with.
“We will continue to give great service and we also want to try and work more closely with Pets at Home over the next year so we can provide a better, more integrated service to pet owners Milton Keynes.”
