THE road to a glittering career in motorsport journalism awaits a 17-year-old who is a finalist in a national competition.

Stephen Lickorish, from Denbigh School, is celebrating after entering MotorSport Vision’s Young Motorport Journalist of the Year competition.

The contest challenged budding reporters to write a 300 word piece based on a video of a Formula Two race and Stephen was crowned as a finalist.

As his prize, Stephen will receive a day out behind the wheel of a BMW 1 Series during MSV’s YoungDrive! introductory driving lessons for 11-17 year olds at Bedford Autodrome circuit.

He will also get to see his work in print, as MSV has asked each finalist to review their YoungDrive! experience in an article to be published at one of MSV’s major 2011 events.

A delighted Stephen said: “It’s really exciting to win and the prize looks like a really good experience.”
