Towergate Insurance will be marking 15 years in the insurance industry this September with the Executive Committee taking on a classic Yorkshire challenge for charity.

Group CEO Mark Hodges and his team will be heading to the North of England, on September 21, to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks with the aim of raising funds for the Towergate Charitable Foundation.

The group will have just 12 hours to conquer the three highest peaks in the county; Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Inglebrook climb.

Those taking part in the challenge on the day will be:

Mark Hodges, Group CEO, Scott Egan, Group CFO, Michael Rea, CEO Retail, Clive Nathan, CEO Underwriting, Lucinda Charles-Jones, Group HR Director, Tim Johnson, CEO Paymentshield and Networks and Mike Newman, Group Chief Information Officer.

Mark Hodges, Group CEO, said: “The Towergate story, beginning back in 1997, is a fantastic tale of dogged determination, innovation and courage. As we move into our 15th year, we are keen to celebrate these accomplishments in keeping with our mantra “Make Money, Have Fun, Do Good”.

“Our employees and customers have raised over £6 million on behalf of the Towergate Charitable Foundation since 2005. It feels only right that the Executive team mark the 15 year anniversary by getting stuck into a challenge which genuinely requires physical and mental stamina and also benefits the causes which are close to all of our hearts.

“We hope that our industry friends and colleagues will support this endeavour which will benefit Great Ormond Street Hospital, the NSPCC, Cancer Research UK and the various other wonderful UK charities which form our foundation.”

Towergate Insurance, which was founded in 1997 by Peter Cullum CBE, has grown to become one of the largest distributors of insurance in the UK, comprising of more than 120 businesses and 5,500 employees across the length and breadth of the UK. Staff will enjoy a series of celebrations and local fundraising events to mark the 15 year anniversary of the group this September.
