London Midland is closing the line between Milton Keynes and Rugby via Northampton on Sunday.

Buses will replace trains until 7pm on the second day of the Foo Fighters gig, which is expected to bring thousands of people to Milton Keynes.

Network Rail’s engineering work between Northampton and Rugby will close the line adding 25 minutes to the outward journey.

For those travelling from the north or south however, passengers will be able to use the West Coast Mainline.

Until 7pm, buses replace trains between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby via Northampton.

A Network Rail spokesperson said service information is published 12 weeks in advance.

They said: “As part of our railway upgrade plan to deliver a more reliable service to passengers, we are installing more than one kilometre of new track this Sunday September 6.

“This work involves specialist engineers and equipment, so this means we plan it months and months in advance.

“There will be some changes to services so we advise passengers to check with National Rail Enquiries website for the latest travel information.”
