Two services were cancelled on the Marston Vale Line this morning between Bedford and Bletchley.

The 6.42am from Bletchley and the 7.31am from Bedford were cancelled because of a fault with the train. It is understood that there was a fault with the carriage’s sanding equipment, which is used to give trains additional grip on the track during winter weather.

A bus replacement service was provided instead by rail operator London Midland Trains.

The Marston Vale Line calls at 10 intermediate stops, including Bow Brickhill, Woburn Sands, and Aspley Guise.

Normal services have now resumed.
