During the incident, Garforth was armed with a brick whilst Collinson threatened staff with a screwdriver, before stealing cash and cigarettes.

Investigating officer, PC Alana Heaver of Milton Keynes CID, said: “I welcome the sentences handed down to both Collison and Garforth, who will now have a long time to reflect on their actions.

“The incident was particularly violent and left the victims extremely traumitised, after being threatened with weapons at their place of work. I commend the courage the victims demonstrated while aiding the police’s investigation.

“I would also like to thank all the police officers who helped this investigation for their professionalism and hard work.”
