Two men have been charged with robbery of taxi drivers in the city

James Gardner, 27, of Arnos Grove, Monkston Park, has been charged with robbing a taxi driver in Larkland Road, Netherfield, on July 4.

Michael Powell, 27, of Melville Street, Northampton has been charged with robbing a taxi driver in Shearmans, Fullers Slade, on June 11.

Both men appeared at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Saturday. Gardner will next appear at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday, July 22. Powell will appear on the same day at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court.

Detective Inspector Kelly Glister said: “Although we have charged these two men with robbery, there are still a number of outstanding robberies in Milton Keynes which are still under investigation.

“I would urge anyone who has witnessed a robbery over the past month or anyone with any information about any of the robberies of taxi drivers in the city to contact me on 0845 8 505 505 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
