TWO women were sexually assaulted within 30 minutes of each other.

The first incident happened at 9.51am on Sunday, January 23, as the 46-year-old victim was out walking near Lodge Lake in Great Holm.

She noticed a man touching himself inappropriately and as she walked away from him the man ran at her and grabbed her from behind. The woman screamed and the man was forced to run away. The second incident happened around half an hour later at 10.20am as a 49-year-old woman was walking her dog along the redway near to Atkins Close in Bradwell.

Police are linking the two incidents. The offender is described as white, in his early to mid-twenties and stocky. He was wearing an olive green jacket – possibly a raincoat – with blue jeans and a black woollen hat pulled low over his eyebrows.

Detective sergeant, Neil Robinson, said: “Both these areas are popular with dog walkers and joggers so I would ask anyone who may have seen a man matching this description in the area to contact us.”

Anyone who witnessed either of the incidents or has any information can call police on 08458 505505.
