Unemployment fall in Milton Keynes

Jobs.

Employment figures have fallen in Milton Keynes.

The latest numbers from the National Statistics (ONS) show UK unemployment fell by 121,000 to 2.1 million in the three months to May, the lowest level in nearly six years.

Milton Keynes South MP Iain Stewart said: “In my constituency alone the number of claimants is 721 lower than in June 2013 and 215 lower than in May 2014. That is a very welcome drop.”

Iain added, “Milton Keynes has come out of the financial crisis very strongly. We have a flexible and dynamic workforce. I am confident if we stick to the long-term plan and keep attracting new businesses and investment we will lead the way and continue to see unemployment drop.”
