A VAN driver who killed an elderly passenger who was travelling in a taxi has been warned to prepare for an ‘inevitable’ prison sentence.
Roger Sinfield, 61, failed to stop at a junction near Towcester and ploughed into the side of the taxi,
Enid Lawrence, who lived in Bletchley, was sitting in the back with a friend.
The friend suffered a fractured neck, broken ribs and a cracked pelvis but survived the crash.
Mrs Lawrence, 71, sustained serious injuries that led to her death, Northampton Crown Court hear.
Eon meter fitter Sinfield had denied causing death by dangerous driving.
Sentencing was adjourned but the judge warned a lengthy custodial sentence was the only option.
