This May, Vanessa Ford will be walking 100 kilometres, overnight, to raise funds for Willen Hospice by taking part in the London2Brighton challenge.

This is a gruelling test where entrants can either walk, jog or run from capital to coast through the day and night. It is the ultimate test of strength, stamina and endurance. This isn’t Vanessa’s first challenge for the Hospice. She has previously climbed Kilimanjaro, trekked through Peru and will be undertaking Everest Base Camp in March.

Vanessa has, to date, raised over £5000 for the work of the Hospice. Vanessa will be departing London mid-morning on the Saturday and walking all day and through the night to arrive in time for a hearty breakfast in Brighton on Sunday morning.

Vanessa said: “Having been totally bitten by the ‘challenge bug’, I have signed up to walk 100k from London to Brighton to raise funds for Willen Hospice. The Hospice has been close to my heart for many years as they not only greatly helped my Mum when she was diagnosed with cancer, they have also helped many of our friend’s families through extremely difficult times.“

In this Olympic year Willen Hospice is looking for others to step up to this London2Brighton challenge and join Vanessa in helping the Hospice raise the more than £4 million it needs this year to provide its services. If you have been inspired to help please call us on 01908 306699.
