VIDEO: Hannah’s plan to help kids Get Out! interests Sir Richard Branson

AN entrepreneur has been shortlisted for a chance to win investment from business tycoon, Sir Richard Branson.

Hannah Catmur, 22, was nominated by online entrepreneur community Virgin Media Pioneers in a national search for the best budding business leaders.

Miss Catmur, from Haversham, is one of eight nominees who will be subject to a public vote to determine who should meet Sir Richard at his family home in Oxfordshire later this month.

Four finalists will then pitch their ideas to an audience of chief executives and managing directors for a share of £5,000.

Miss Catmur, founder of the Get Out! Explorers Club website, has created a smart phone app that will encourage children to be more active.

She said: “The idea is to get people to be more active using what kids are currently loving – mobile and social.

“As this young generation become increasingly tech-savvy with devices now more popular and accessible than ever Get Out! utilises this technology to incentivise children in a new and exciting way.”

People can vote for Miss Catmur by visiting the Virgin Pioneers website, which also contains more details of each pitch.

Miss Catmur is also planning a large scale outdoor event at Harrold-Odell Country Park in Bedfordshire on August 25 to further promote her business.
