The biggest play event in Milton Keynes was held at Campbell Park this week as part of a national initiative to promote the importance of play for children and young people of all ages.
MK Play Day 2014 offered the city’s children free activities on Tuesday including soft play, water slides, face painting, den building, fairground rides, a mobile library and a sports zone run by MK Dons.
It was organised by the MK Play partnership, which includes the council, MK Dons, MK Play Association and The Parks Trust.
Andy Grout from MK Play Association said: “By taking part in MK Play Day locally, we are calling on everyone to help make sure that children and young people across the UK have the time, freedom and space to play outdoors.
“As well as being tremendous fun, outdoor play is crucial for children’s health, well-being and happiness.”
