A HARD-HITTING drama about the lives of people living on a deprived estate has been filmed in Milton Keynes.
Jake is described by its makers as a ‘powerful story about lives behind closed doors and people that become involved in a situation much darker than anyone could imagine’.
The film has been entirely funded by its cast and crew and is already the subject of much internet buzz.
It revolves around the life of title character, Jake, and tackles social deprivation, mental illness and addiction.
Actress Kealey Gavillet, 27, plays Lisa, the tough-talking friend of Jake’s girlfriend, who eventually confronts him about his increasingly violent domestic abuse.
She said: “My character’s a real fire-cracker and not too dissimilar to myself.
“It was fantastic to be a part of an exciting film and I think it sends out a real message about the brutal reality of domestic abuse and mental illness.”
Jake premiers at the Kiln Farm Club in Milton Keynes on June 29. For more information, visit www.jakefilm.co.uk
