VIDEO: Romeo and Juliet moment for mysterious Milton Keynes statues

A set of statues that have been appearing across Milton Keynes had a Romeo and Juliet moment on Thursday.

During the ten-day IF: Milton Keynes International Festival, 35 mysterious life-size statues have been silently journeying throughout the city, appearing in a new location every day.

And as the festival nears its end, a cherry picker from MK company Niftylift lifted one statue into the air to join another statue on the balcony of the MK Gallery, in a move designed to evoke Shakespearean-style romance.

The statues, called Les Rêveurs (The Dreamers), are the creation of French company Lucie Lom which specialises in creating sculptural works of art that re-imagine and transform their locations.
