2012, the year of the London Olympics, will see a major new marathon come to Milton Keynes.

On Sunday April 29 the Milton Keynes Marathon will take place, finishing in stadiummk, home of MK Dons FC. The race has already attracted over 4,200 entrants with runners coming from all over the UK and across the globe.

Race organisers said: “This is a chance for us to show off the best of Milton Keynes and its people. Months of planning and hard work have gone into this event and we want to provide a great day for the whole community of Milton Keynes.”

Volunteers are needed to fill many roles from marshalling to baggage handling, from entertaining the crowds to manning the enquiry desks. If you want to play your part in shaping the sporting history of your area visit the event website to download an application form.
