AN initiative to feed the city is being replicated in December after being a resounding success last year.

FeedMK will run across Milton Keynes on Tuesday, December 20 and organisers are hoping it will be bigger and better this year.

John Daly, sales and operations director at Control Group Ltd and one of the brains behind the initiative, said: “Last November a few friends had an idea of providing a free, three course meal to low income and single parent families as well as OAPs, the homeless and basically anyone that was on their own and wanted some friendship.”

He added: “We ended up feeding over 100 people and also managed to give each child and adult a Christmas present.”

Over the last 12 months John has met other people keen to provide similar support throughout the year, including those involved in the Food Bank and the MK Soup Run.

Mr Daly said: “With their help we are aiming to reach even more people this year.

“Great Linford School has also chosen FeedMK as the organisation that they wish to support this year as part of their Christmas Appeal, which is fantastic news.

“Having a local school recognise the importance of what we are trying to do makes a huge difference.”

Plenty of volunteers are helping on the day but if you would like to make a donation of a new toy for children aged from birth to 16, call the FeedMK team on 07904200117 or email feedmk@ymail.com.
