Walk of Hope to raise awareness for the homeless

PEOPLE from all over the city are set to take part in a walk to raise awareness of homelessness in Milton Keynes.

The Walk of Hope 2012 will take place on Saturday, October 6 and is being organised by staff and residents at the Orbit run Cambridge Street Homeless Hostel in Bletchley.

The plan is that the project will become an annual event becoming bigger and better every year.

It start from Orbit’s homeless hostel in Fishermead at 10am on the day, with walkers continuing to pass the organisation’s mother and baby unit in Springfield before walking on to the Bletchley hostel.

There will be food and refreshments along the route, with a special song due to be sung by the homeless for the homeless and entertainment from MK Dons.

Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Catriona Morris will be present at the finish.
