Thames Valley Police has arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of murder following the death of a man from Walnut Tree.
POLICE are continuing to investigate the death of a 33-year-old man in Walnut Tree last night.
A postmortem is expected to be carried out tomorrow (Wednesday) and formal identification is expected to follow.
A 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in hospital and under police guard. He is expected to remain in hospital overnight.
The address in Lichfield Down will remain guarded by police overnight.
Officers were called at 8.16pm last night Monday, to reports that a 33-year-old man had been stabbed at a property in Lichfield Down. He was taken to Milton Keynes General Hospital, but died from his injuries shortly after.
A 32-year-old man was arrested on the scene and was taken to a hospital to be treated for facial injuries, where he remains under guard. His condition is not life-threatening.
Det Insp Phil Murphy, leading the investigation, said: “We are currently in the process of establishing the relationship between the two men, although at this time I do not believe this is a random attack.
“We have spoken to a number of witnesses who were in the area at the time and I am pleased with the initial response to this investigation.
“However, if there is anyone who saw or heard anything around the time of the incident who hasn’t yet contacted us, I would urge them to do so on 0845 8 505 505.”
Supt Nikki Ross, commander for Milton Keynes said: “I would like to reassure residents that this is not being treated as a random attack.
“However, police officers will be carrying out extra patrols in the area to ensure residents in the area are kept safe and updated about this incident.”
