Police are hunting a man with a “distinctive large nose” after three attempted robberies on the same day.
One offence occurred at 12.20pm on Thursday, June 12 on the footbridge over the V3 between Rusland Circus, Emerson Valley and Dulverton Drive, when the offender targeted a 28–year-old woman and demanded she handed over her phone.
She refused and he then ran off.
Five minutes later in Shallowford Grove, the offender then started following an 18-year–old girl.
When she turned around he attempted to grab her phone twice, but failed and walked away.
Then at 3.55pm on the same footbridge over the V3 a man was walking in front of two 14-year-old girls.
He stopped and the girls passed him, but as they did he told them to hand over their phones.
Both the victims managed to run away.
Police believe these attempted robberies are linked and that it was the same criminal in each incident.
He is white, in his late teens, around 5ft 8ins, of a very skinny build, clean shaven, with dark circles around his eyes and a distinctive large nose.
He wore a hooded top with a red T-shirt underneath, blue denim jeans and carried a black rucksack.
