Remembrance Sunday was marked at events across Milton Keynes.
Milton Keynes Mayor Steve Coventry was in attendance for services in New Bradwell and Bletchley, while deputy mayor Cllr David Hopkins was present at Horsefair Green in Stony Stratford, and at a Newport Pagnell Remembrance Day Service & Luncheon at St Peter and St Paul’s Church in the town.
Past Mayor Cllr Norman Miles attended St George’s Church in Wolverton.
Milton Keynes North MP, Mark Lancaster flew to the Falklands in his role as Defence Minister at the MOD to attend Remembrance Sunday.
He said: “Whilst I would normally be on parade at Newport Pagnell, I accepted the offer of attending the Port Stanley service in the Falklands in my Ministerial capacity as I wanted to send a clear message to the Falkland Islanders of the support they have from all of the UK.”
Mayor Steve Coventry also joined Friday’s service at MK Rose to mark Armistice Day.
“It was wonderful to see so many people attending this incredibly important remembrance service for Armistice Day at MK Rose,” he said.
“I’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came to pay their respects.”
