WATCH: Taxi driver's advice on safe use of cabs in Milton Keynes

A good samaritan taxi driver has made a video to educate people on the dangers of using unlicensed taxis.

Hossain Toutounchian has worked as a taxi driver in MK for the last 14 years and hopes to spread the word about how to use a taxi service safely.

Hossain, 39, grew up in Newport Pagnell and rallied his old school friends to make the video.

He said: “I want people to understand how important it is to pre-book a cab from a firm they trust - and how dangerous it can be to get into one that isn’t.

“I have been a taxi driver in Milton Keynes for a long time and I want people to know that although there’s been some negativity, taxi drivers are not all bad.

“I don’t want people to look at me and be scared.”

His advice comes in the run-up to the festive period, where more and more people will be using taxis after late night Christmas parties.

Houssain added: “The council is working towards ousting unlicensed drivers, but this can take a long time, so we thought instead we want to stop people getting in the cabs.”
