IF there is a whiff of something funny in the Stony Stratford air this Saturday evening, it might just be the smell or rotting bodies – hundreds will converge on Stony Stratford High Street in the fifth annual Zombie Crawl...
The scary event is the brainchild of Christian Bowler and Andy Ward who are looking forward to turning the historic town into a living nightmare, and if you can’t do it for Halloween, when can you?
“The crawl is so successful because everyone had such a great time dressing up and getting into character,” Christian said,
“People have been planning their costumes for months to try and ‘out Zombie’ each other!”
Certainly the popularity of the annual gore-walk is on the rise, with more than 700 expected to sink the wet stuff on the pub crawl.
It is a great spectacle, but with a worthy cause at its heart – this year, the ghoulish side will be collecting for Willen Hospice, so throw your pence, pounds and notes at a scary looking corpse and help to make this bash raise a scarily fantastic amount.
The crawl will begin at 6pm at The Duke of Wellington and will snake its way along all the other High Street pubs before wrapping up at The Fox & Hounds.
Bands and DJs will litter the route with sound (we presume The Zombies and Bobby ‘Boris’ Pickett’s Monster Mash will be popular rot ‘n’ roll choices),and participants are asked to bring lots of blood, false limbs and rotting flesh...
